Christmas Markets in the Algarve

My Algarve Life

Here is a list of some of the Christmas Markets happening throughout December in the Algarve.

Here’s a roundup of Local Christmas Markets and Christmas Villages in the Algarve.

Firstly, how do they work?

Christmas Markets

They are generally held over the weekend and occasionally on public holidays. Where there is a local everyday market, they may start selling christmas style treats and artesian goods throughout December.

Christmas Villages.

They all have different names, and are usually closed on Mondays and or Wednesdays. They are designed for kids, completely free and often include: Santa's house, market, sled rink, ice rink, mini-trains and amusements for the little ones.

See all the details below! I’ll include dates where possible, locations, and highlights — Of course there are probably, many things I have missed, so let me know! For more details council run events, check with the local Câmara.

Hot tip……

Book ahead. Many of the resort events (non Câmara events) tend to be quite busy, and may require reservations.

Check official websites closer to the dates. Schedules, times, or event details can change. Some events may even be canceled or rescheduled.
