Brunch in the Algarve: where to eat, region by region.

Updated for 2026

Brunch might be the most important meal of the day — it's certainly the one I plan my mornings around. Here's a running list of the spots worth seeking out, organised by area so you can find something near wherever you're staying.

This isn't an exhaustive list — just the places I rate. If I've missed somewhere you love, let me know in the comments or drop me an email.

West coast

  • Cal Arrifana: super busy but for a good reason.

  • Toxic Magic: hidden in the town, very hipster cool vibes, but still welcoming. they do lots of events and night time drinks too.

  • Koyo Speciality Coffee: they have a cafe in Lagos too. Very serious into coffee.

  • Picnic Sagres: on the road, a place you might drive past, but be sure not to.

  • Laundry Lounge: Very cool spot. a laundry place and a good cafe. practical meets good coffee.

Lagos and surrounding area

  • Sul Burgau: love it. Simple, stylish, unpretentious and delicious.

  • Black & White Café: everyone goes here. It is good, but so busy.

  • Everyday People: great coffee and energy and also a good co-working space.

  • Coffee & Waves: small shop with a big heart. little pastries, coffees and smoothies.

  • Sunrays Kitchen: cafe that focuses on fresh produce.

  • Alex | Coffee Brunch Wine: another popular one.

  • Fifteen Brunch: haven’t been personally, but has been recommended to me.

  • Abigail's: around the corner from Black & White, so a good back up option if you're nearby.

Portimão

  • Green Heart @ Cloque: the service is a bit slow, but the views are top top.

  • Breakfast Lovers Portimão: haven’t been here myself but always get recommended to it.

  • Coffeine&Brunch: a favourite for gluten-free and vegan options, right by the beach.

  • Brunch in Rio: another one that has been recommended to me quite a few times.

Lagoa and surrounding area

  • Encci Carvoeiro: Not only a brunch place, but also pizza restaurant. So basically all day dining.

  • Chefs Café: Pastries sandwiches and coffees. They don’t serve eggs, which made me second guess putting them on this list.

  • Brunch & Wine: Just as the name on the tin. Get your brunch, or get your wine. Or both, yolo.

  • Brasserie Vila Vita Park: Now we’re getting fancy. This is a breakfast buffet in the 5 star Vila Vita Park resort.

  • Sweet Spot Porches: Cute little cafe and brunch spot.

Albufeira

  • Antisocial: Love this place. Tiny cafe on the road heading into Guia. Amazing pastries.

  • ZimZala Surf Café: great spot very close to the beach.

  • Honey: small spot, owned by Oh la late.

  • Ohh La Late: Aesthetic cafe with pretty decent food.

  • Sekara Café: coffee shop that also sells organic products.

  • Café Mane: hot spot in Albufeira, good food, but can get busy, so be prepared to wait.

  • Tribü: very cute cafe hidden in Guia.

Loulé and surrounding area

  • 11 Boliqueime: Actually a small hotel, but it has a beautiful little garden.

  • Hannah’s: located in Almancil, frequented by many locals for a casual lunch and brunch.

  • Aura: newly opened cafe near Vila Sol.

  • Austa: recently stoped serving breakfast, but do offer lunch. Stunning grounds and on the Michelin guide.

  • Koko: slow service, and a bit pricey, but convenient if you have kids, as there is a playground and golf range.

  • Pure: located in Quinta do Lago, so it is a bit pricey and touristic, but the brunch is pretty ok.

Faro

  • Evolution Lounge Bar: it’s actually an EV charging cafe, which is pretty cool.

  • The Flower Bar: super cute decor and colourful pancakes.

  • Melbourne Lane Café: good Australian style cafe.

  • Yellow Bourbon: a specialty coffee roastery with brunch options.

East Algarve

  • Spot Local: hidden in Moncarapacho, it’s actually. small guest house. but open to non-guests for coffee and cakes on certain days.

  • Nôma: vibey small cafe open for drinks at night.

  • Xisto (bakery): must must visit. That’s all I’m saying.

  • Café Formosa: cute cafe serving healthy drinks, light bites and coffee.

  • Quinta do Marco: located in a small hotel, with an animal farm. So nice place to go with the kids.

Caveat: I’m not a food critic. Everyone has different preference and experiences. I just like nice things, sharing and supporting small businesses.
